RockwellAutomation and the oil industry giant PEMEX Exploración y Producción recently signed two agreements through the modality of multi-year open service orders (Service Blanket Orders) through PemexProcurement International Inc., whose primary objective is to maintain high reliability and availability in the client’s control and security systems.
This modality is an integral part of the Parts and Services preparatory contracts that both companies have maintained since 2002, which are a contracting tool that facilitates the acquisition processes directly with technology manufacturers.
The first of these agreements is a three-year contract that includes Services to the Digital Monitoring and Control Systems, Safety Instrumented System, Vibration and Electrical Systems of the Allen-Bradley and vMonitor brands including refurbishment. The services will be performed through the subsidiary of Rockwell Automation in Mexico with an execution period between July 2018 and July 2021.
The second agreement, for four years, includes Integral Maintenance, Updating, Technical Support and Training in the Instruments, Equipment and Devices of the Safety Systems, Emergency Shutdown, Fire and Gas, as well as the Digital Monitoring and Control Systems of the ICS TRIPLEX brand, and will be executed between August 2018 and December 2022.
“Our commitment to the Oil & Gas industry and to this client in particular, which we consider to be a true strategic ally, is essential for us,” states Hector De la Garza, Corporate Account Manager of Rockwell Automation. “The relationship we have had for several years seeks to consolidate PEMEX’s and its productive subsidiary companies growth and exceed its service expectations by strengthening our relationship as a strategic vendor. We want to maintain a commitment at the corporate level, which seeks to establish a transparent bond with the highest standards of ethics, trust and long-term credibility”, he adds.
One of the primary functions of the Rockwell Automation technology is to achieve safe conditions in the infrastructure and facilities in cases of failures or unwanted events, explains De La Garza. “Reducing damage to personnel and maintaining operational continuity in customer processes is a key aspect for us,” he states.
